Study of immunology confirms the importance of human body self-defense mechanisms to fight against infections caused by various pathogenic microorganisms, which are abundance in the environment around and within us. Due to this inner healing ability which is specific to every living being such as plants, animals and humans, it is possible to survive on Earth. The immune system plays a key role in this activity of protecting us from bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites at the interface between life and death. The immune system acts by destroying pathogens that invade living organisms, but also by engulfing and annihilating their altered and harmful structures, such as tumor cells.
