Dr. Steve John Chiola

He has been involved in research, education and practice in various fields of integrative medicine for over 35 years and he is recognized as a specialist in aromatherapy, phytotherapy, homeopathy and traditional chinese medicine. Dr. Steve J. Chiola is the Founder and Director of Holos Academy(Switzerland and Italy). President of the Swiss Association of Clinical Aromatherapy and was the Founder and Educational Director of Equilibrium Academy (Switzerland). Introduced Aromatherapy to the  Geriatric Depatments of the Clinica Luganese Moncucco (Lugano) and of the Feliz Platter Hospital (Basel) whre he continues to lecture in Clinical aromatherapy. Lecturer for many residential hospices in Ticino – Switzerland.  During his University years operated as an intern Researcher in Oncology at the National Cancer Intitute of Genova and Pediatric Hospital Giannina Gaslini – Genova. 

Didactic activities:

Offering courses and training programs in Clinical Aromatherapy and AromaScinece, Naturopathic Medicine and LifeStlye Medicine. Providing opportunities for students to participate in clinical internships and observe patient cases.

All courses are offered Live-on-Line on the Bio Quantum Academy Zoom platform on a one-on-one mentorship basis or in group class. 

Classes are at the evenings and/or weekends to accommodate everyone in different time zones and the educators are available to meet with students to answer questions, personal mentorship, and supervision. 

The courses held in the Department of Aromatherapy keep account of the level of knowledge of our students, and thanks to the of Level I, II and III Researcher Diploma fostered by the International Educational Platform every student finds his opportunity.

Research activities:

Conducting studies and research on the efficacy and safety of essential oils and CO2 extracts and other naturopathic medicine remedies, including herbal extracts and tinctures. Research activities are connected with collaborating institutions offering the possibility of expanding knowledge in the field in the specific field of the above integrative medicines.

Naturopathy Department Research Topics

The research in the Naturopathic Department foresees the collaboration with the other Departments of the Faculty of Integrative Medicine the Bio Quantum Academy in Canada,  the Departments of Homeopathy, Phytotherapy and Medicinal Plants all part of the Bio Quantum Academy in Canada.

The aim of the research projects is to provide evidence-based recommendations for the use of integrative medicine for a particular health condition and identify areas for future applications in the prevention and treatment of diseases. Special interest in the research programs will be to possibly contribute to the development of new integrative and natural-based therapies to promote a better quality of life and support for specific ailments and specifically in the field of Geriatrics and Elder Care.

The research programs will involve comprehensive literature review, research and clinical studies evaluating the bioactivity of essential oils and their mechanisms of action. The research will also review the safety and potential adverse effects of applied Aromatherapy. 

The research designs, development and execution will be studied with the applicants according to their institutional involvement or possibilities of connecting with various institutions supporting our platform.
